Taxi Companies in Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh is served by 3 major taxi companies, as listed below. Each company now has their own web site which can be viewed by clicking on the relevant logo below.

All of the companies operate fully computerised despatch systems utilising the latest GPS technology, allowing them to minimise customer waiting times. They also offer account facilities and can supply taxis which are wheelchair accessible. Major credit cards are accepted, although it is advisable to say that you wish to pay by credit card when you book.

Central are one of the taxi co-operatives in the city. They operate around 390 taxis and, apart from being the largest company, they aim to be the most efficient and busiest - servicing many business accounts as well as the general public.

City Cabs are the other taxi co-operative in the city, operating around 320 taxis. Also an extremely busy company, offering similar facilities to their business and private customers.

They also supply the bulk of the taxis who service the Waverley Railway Station.

ComCab are the newest company in the city, having been formed by the purchase and later amalgamation of two local companies by a large multinational conglomerate. They currently operate around 300 taxis. They are expanding rapidly, offering a fast improving service quality.
